an element is a pure substance that cannot be converted into a simpler substance by physical and chemical means. while an atom is the smallest particle of an element. an atom is further composed of subatomic particles called electrons, protons, and neutrons. the basic Difference Between Elements And Atoms is that an element is made up of atoms of only one kind E.g the element hydron is made from atoms containing just one proton and one electron. on the other hand, an atom consists of a nucleus (containing protons and neutrons) and electrons. there are 92 different kinds of atom occur in nature.

These are the fundamental materials of which all matter is composed and there are 118 naturally occurring elements in total that are still found in nature.

Element term is used to classify different substances in the periodic table. The elements are made entirely from one type of atom. E.g. Hydrogen atom is made from atoms containing a single electron and a single proton. If we change the number of protons an atom has, then we change the type of element it is.

Atom has the characteristics properties of a chemical element and is also the smallest unit of matter. Atom is the basic building block of ordinary matter. When the atoms join together they form a molecule.

Atoms consist of particles electrons, protons, and neutrons. Protons have a positive electric charge, electrons have a negative and neutrons carry no electrical charge. In the nucleus of an atom, electrons and protons combine together in the central part of the atom.

A particular atom has the same number of electrons and protons. The nucleus of the atom is small and dense than electrons which are the lightest charged particles in nature. The Electron is attracted to a positive charge by an electric force. Electrons and protons are composed of other atoms known as quarks.
