Difference Between Physical And Chemical Change

Physical changes are changes in which the form of matter is altered but one substance is not transformed into another substance. while Chemical Change is a process where one or more substances are altered into one or more new substances. the basic Difference Between Physical And Chemical Change is that a physical change is reversible and changes have no effects on the chemical bonds. on the other hand, Chemical Change is an irreversible process and they have a direct effect on the chemical bonds.

A physical change occurs i.e. when you dissolve sugar in water, chemically it remains the same (sucrose molecules) while the shape of the sugar changes. On the other hand, when you dissolve salt in water, NaCl breaks down into ions ( Na+ and Cl) and a chemical change occurs.

in these cases, the white solid dissolves into pure liquid. in both these cases, you can recover the original material by removing the water while both processes are not the same.
